The guides written by Valve are not always the best ones to use. Yes, if you are just getting familiar with dota 2 and the heroes, you may go through them; however, your best bet lies with the user written guides. They are far more accurate and are almost always up to date with the latest changes and updates that the game has. Last hits are important!

If you are just starting to play the game, you may have noticed that when you get the last hit from a creep you are getting more gold. And while 40-50 gold may not seem like a huge deal, just think about it: If you manage to learn how to get more last hits, just by killing 10-20 creeps you will get something of the sort of 500-1000 gold, which is definitely A LOT! So be sure to train your abilities in killing and stealing last hits and you will have no problem in managing your goal.

DOTA 2 is not as complicated of a game as it seems.
